A Glamping Weekend
It’s Sunday the guests have left after an amazing weekend of Glamping. This weekend we had returning guests Tara and Ellen, old college roomates here for their 3rd year in a row ..it’s like family coming home:) ahhhhhhh our nights filled with bonfires and days with massages, wine and laughter! So after a fun filled weekend with guests who had pretty amazing weekend themselves. They get to stay in luxury tents like Bohemian Bungalow.

During the day some guests went tubing or hiking and others just chilled at their tents enjoying the solitude of The Martyn House property.

And then as it is every Sunday they leave and we are left with a sense of having connected with yet another small group of folks and we are reminded why we love what we do so much.
But soon the quiet shifts and what has become known as my ‘Sunday ritual’ begins….I like to refer to it as just “being” at the farm….first ON MY MUST DOS! a visit to see my new little chickie girls

and then down to the garden to get them a treat of comfrey greens YUM! And my treat was a bouquet of flowers! After much handling wooing and chirping i decided the door to their coop should be a much more creative door! Yellow paint …a few sticks to make into letters -that should do the trick!

That mission accomplished it was time to unload my mind. My friend Cooper came to visit this weekend and she did water colors -she called her paintings short stories,-wee bitty 2 inch x 2 inch watercolors telling the story of any given moment- a chick- a tree- a flower then she wrote a thought or two- i loved that so decided to copy that little journal exercise and here i am at the best seat in the house…well one of the best:)

Next stop my studio where i had made lavender/lime soap, and finished firing some coffee mugs!

Spending a creative day at the farm feels like heaven on earth to me. There is this sense of contentment, the weather is perfect, just enough breeze to keep the air moving, glass of wine in hand and then i took a moment to write this blog…

to tell a short and sweet version of my day….really does it get any better than this?
