Rick’s Studio
Rick works in a renovated old garage and guest house which is now his photo studio. It is here that he photographs artwork, produces Giclee prints, and prints onto ceramic tiles for other artists. He also is an accomplished commercial photography both for studio and location photography.
Rick, like JoAnn, is always working on his personal imagery. Currently he is shooting and printing photographs for numerous galleries and fine art photography shows. A new passion, inspired from recent travels, is designing and printing tiles with personal images for home and commercial applications. Rick is in the process of creating photography classes both for groups and individuals.

Rick’s Bio
Rick grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology where he majored in photography, graduating in 1976. For the three years after college, Rick started his career in photography working as a commercial photographer and custom lab technician.
In 1979 Rick felt the desire to see more of the world through his own lens and left Cleveland to hitchhike through Europe for 4 months. It was here he began to create his own portfolio of work. Arriving back in the United States having been inspired by his travels with a more global view of the world, Rick decided to see his own country. He sold his car, bought a VW Bus, converted it to a camper, and traveled the US for the next three and a half years. Traveling only back roads, he was inspired by the sights he saw, whether an old barn and a sunset or the texture of a battered ship on shore with ripples in the sand dunes he decided to journal his journey with his photography. Generally Rick would head south during the winter and north during the summer, but wherever he went he settled in, worked in communities and met many new friends along the way.
Finally Rick decided to settle down in Denver in 1983 and began working in both a custom photographic lab and then color separation house. During this time he began to sell his photographs through several galleries consisting of both previous work from traveling as well as new work. Rick then opened his own studio as a commercial photographer and evolved into specializing in the photography of fine art that grew to serve over 300 artists.
In 1993 Rick moved to Atlanta and worked in a variety of positions in photography and digital imaging. For the past 11 years Rick has been a consultant to the graphics and photographic industries specializing in quality control, color management, scanning, digital photography and workflow solutions based out of Atlanta. During this time he has set up and taught many others how to capture and reproduce high quality artwork and continues to work as a consultant.
Several years ago Rick and Joann met and about a year later bought an old homestead in Ellijay, Georgia just north of Atlanta. It was here, inspired by being in the mountains, that Rick decided to go back to being a commercial photographer again and also photographing artwork for artists. Rick took a guesthouse on the property and converted it to a photo studio and a state of the art digital printing facility.
